Picroliv®
& Boswellin® Blend is a comprehensive
formula of traditional herbal extracts to support and maintain
normal respiratory function and efficiency. Picroliv®
is an extract of Picrorhiza kurroa (4% Kutkin); Boswellin®
is an extract of the gum resin of Boswellia serrata (70%
Organic Acids); Long Pepper (Piper longum), Adhatoda vasica
(1% Vasicine, 2% Total Alkaloids), Trikatu blend and Tylophora
asmatica (0.1% Tylophorine Alkaloid) extracts are included.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant that promotes
glutathione production. Bioperine® enhances
nutrient bio-availability.

Picroliv®-A
Picroliv® is
an extract from the roots of Picrorhiza kurroa used traditionally
in the support of respiratory and liver health. Picroliv®-A
contains androsin, a compound which inhibits allergic reactions.
Clinical studies have validated the beneficial effects of
Picrorhiza kurroa extract in the management of respiratory
health1. In individuals suffering from respiratory
inefficiency, a preparation containing the crude extract
of Picrorhiza kurroa gave encouraging results2.

Boswellin®
Boswellin®,
a standardized extract from the gum resin of Boswellia serrata,
contains 65% boswellia acids. This extract helps the body’s
systems that reduce inflammation by preventing the formation
of leukotrienes, compounds which have been implicated in
respiratory problems1. Anti-leukotrienes are
currently used in the support of efficient respiratory function
and health. Boswellia acids offer a safe herbal alternative
approach2.

Adhatoda vasica extract
Adhatoda vasica has been
traditionally used in the management of allergic disorders
and bronchial asthma. Research performed over the last three
decades revealed that the alkaloids present in the leaves,
vasicine and vasicinone, possess respiratory stimulant activity1,2.

Piper Longum Extract
Piper longum is used in
traditional practice to promote respiratory health. This
extract is obtained from the fruits of the plant Piper longum
and is standardized to a minimum of 1% alkaloid piperine.
In a clinical study completed on piper longum, 20 children
were given a five week treatment of the extract. The results
showed that Piper longum significantly improved respiratory
function1. Piper longum also enhances thermogenic
response, or release of metabolic heat energy2.

Trikatu
In traditional usage,
black pepper (Piper nigrum Linn.) , long pepper (Piper longum
Linn.) and ginger (Zingiber officinalis) when mixed in equal
proportions yield "Trikatu", a Sanskrit word meaning
"three acrids". Trikatu is an important ingredient
in traditional formulations used to support the maintenance
of digestive and respiratory health. The thermogenic effects,
nutrient bioavailability enhancing properties and metabolic
enhancement provided by the component herbs render Trikatu
particularly beneficial in the support of respiratory health1.

Tylophora asthmatica extract
This extract is prepared
from the leaves of the plant Tylophora indica. Through a
unique combination of actions exerted by the component alkaloids
and other phytochemicals, Tylophora asthmatica extract helps
to promote efficient respiratory function. The plant has
been most beneficial in maintaining respiratory health1,2.

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
Recent research has revealed
the ability of this compound to function as a detoxicant
and antioxidant in the body, providing protection against
oxidative damage. Studies show that NAC’s positive
effects could be attributed to its ability to enhance the
body’s glutathione production. For over 30 years,
NAC has been used as a support to promote healthy respiratory
function.. In addition, research has found NAC to significantly
enhance human T-cell function1,2.

Bioperine (Black pepper extract)
Bioperine®
is a standardized extract obtained from black pepper, containing
not less than 95% piperine. The product is a natural bioavailability
enhancer for nutrients and is proven to improve the uptake
and utilization of several nutritional supplements, including
vitamins, antioxidants and minerals1,2.
